This online weekly group programme is designed to help all those who’ve been bullied to learn what to do, how to change your thoughts and feelings to enable you to not only recover from the trauma of being bullied, but to be able to feel happy, confident and full of self-belief once again

If you’re reading this, then the likelihood is that you’ve experienced being bullied. This may be recent, or it may have been something which happened in the past which is still looming over you, consuming your thoughts and impacting on your happiness, confidence and ability to be you once again.

As someone who’s been in this exact position, I know that when you’ve been bullied it literally shakes apart the world you thought you knew. It changes how you think, what you think you know about yourself and others and can impact so many different parts of your life.

I’m so sorry you have had this experience and I want you to know I’m here to help.

The Beyond the Bullying programmes originally came about because my little boy was being bullied at school and there was nothing to support me as his parent to help him recover, I then discovered that not only was there nothing to support parents of those being bullied, there was very little around to help anyone who’d been bullied to recover and rebuild their confidence and self-esteem and be themselves once again. So this programme was created to help those, who like me, have been bullied.

I’ve experienced bullying as a child, in work (several times) and more recently online and as a parent to a child being bullied at school. There isn’t a decade of my life which hasn’t been touched or impacted by bullying and I truly understand and appreciate the range of feelings, thoughts and emotions which bullying has on those who’ve been bullied.

All any of us want is to be happy, to be able to be ourselves, to work towards achieving the dreams and hopes we have for our lives. This can be true even when you’ve been bullied, you potentially just need the help, support and some tricks and tools to help you.

Being bullied changes not only how we see the world, but how we see ourselves within it.

We may become less sure of ourselves, less confident, need more reassurance, become quieter perhaps or more withdrawn, we may become worried or anxious, they can start questioning who we are and whether we are worthy, good or perhaps different and unlovable.

We can develop a different view of our capabilities and start questioning whether we can do things we wanted to do or achieve the dreams we had in their mind for our future. It may change the activities we do, what we wear and how we show up at school, at work or within our friendship groups. It can impact the life choices we make when considering jobs we apply for, promotions we’d love to have, relationships we’re in and much more.

Sadly, if you’ve been bullied, you’re not alone in your experience, but it’s not enough to know that, we need to take back the control our happiness and wellbeing and free ourselves from the shadow bullying may be having over your life.

Currently around 25% – 29% experience bullying every year. This could be at school, at work, within our families or communities, in groups we belong to or activities or sports we undertake or online. Bullying can happen anywhere, at any time, to anyone.

 But there are things you can do to recover from the impact of bullying

The story never ends when the bullying stops. If only it was that simple. Instead to recover from the experience of being bullied we need to support ourselves to think and feel differently about what has happened. We need to learn what we can do to rebuild our confidence and self-esteem, we need to learn how to thrive once again being unashamedly ourselves and be able to achieve our dreams.

This programme has created using the science of positive psychology to create practical things we can do within our day to day to recover from the bullying you have experienced. We don’t relive the trauma, we focus on moving forward from this point towards the version of you, you want to be.

Each part of the programme is designed to give you something you can do, not a forced activity, but a little action or change in the way you’re thinking or feeling which will gradually help to restore your belief in yourself and others and start to see there is more good and kindness in the world than hurt and pain.

So how does it work?

Each week we’ll come together as a group online through Zoom. I’ll deliver the weekly training on an aspect of the programme and then there will be chance for Q&A. During these weekly sessions…

>> I’ll be lifting the lid on the reasons people bully do you can see how it wasn’t your fault and it’s not because of who you are, or what you look like or what you may have done or not done that you were bullied, but because of an unmet emotional need of the bully

>> We’ll be talking critical thinking, positive self-talk and optimism so you can supercharge what and how both you think to enable you to question what you see and hear and most importantly to see the positives in your future

>> I’ll be helping you learn how to supercharge your bouncebackability so no matter what is thrown at you, or has been thrown at you, you’ll come back stronger

>> We’ll also be looking at the many ways in which kindness can show up and be seen everyday, so you can start seeing it and believing it for yourself and knowing that you get to choose kindness and compassion and it’s one of the most powerful gifts you can ever give to yourself and others

What you’ll do as a result of Beyond the Bullying:

    So much of what has happened and happens next is out of our control. We’re reliant on those around us and those who were involved in the bullying to do something about it.

    But you can take control of what you do to recover and that starts here and now.

    Throughout this programme you’ll learn new things you can think, say and do to help rebuild your confidence, self-esteem and happiness.

    No more hoping, this is your chance to take action, to actively do things which are scientifically proven. These are simple, effective things you can do every day in your own home and in your normal day to day life.

    Who am I & why should you learn from me?

    I’m Kat, mum of one, and I’ve experienced bullying in every decade of my life. As a child, as an adult and now as a parent too.

    My background has included working for charities (including one of the biggest children’s charities in the UK), founding and running my own social enterprise and supporting people with their physical and mental health and wellbeing.

    I’ve done training with some of the biggest universities in positive psychology including Yale and University of Pennsylvania to ensure these programmes are based on the best science currently available to help manage our emotions, stress and to be able to take control of our happiness and help others to do so too.

    I created this and the other Beyond the Bullying programmes because everything I could find which related to bullying only talked about either what we do to prevent or reduce it, or how damaging it was.

    The question for me was what happens to those who’ve been affected.

    When I couldn’t find anything, I created it.

    My mission is simple: to help all those who’ve been affected by bullying to be able to rebuild their confidence, self-esteem and happiness to be able to live the life they dreamed off before they were bullied (or perhaps even to inspire them to dream even bigger and achieve even more).

    I’m here to help in any way I can. I’ve been there, I’ve experienced it first hand and I’ve learned what we can all do to help ourselves and others who’ve been affected.

    It’s time we took back control of our lives, rid ourselves of the shadows of bullying and learn to thrive once again.

    >> Random acts of kindness: so you can boost the happiness of yourself, your family and other people all around you and prove good things really can happen to anyone, anywhere and for no other reason other than to be kind and caring

    Each week I’ll deliver a short training covering the topics above along with chance for you to ask any questions and feedback about anything you’re stuck on or need additional help with
