If you’re anything like me, you’ve tried lots of different plans to lose weight. Some have led to some success, some you’ve enjoyed, others you’ve hated. But nothing has led to giving you the support you needed long term to not only lose the weight but keep it off too.
That’s how Slimming Redefined came about. If losing weight and then putting it back on were a sport, I’d surely be in with the chance of a medal. I’ve been battling with weight loss for nearly 20 years. What was missing was a plan which not only helps to manage our calorie intake to enable us to lose weight from a physiological point, but one which helped us with all the stuff which rattles around our heads and often leads to us falling off the weight loss wagon and ending up where we started, or sometimes heavier than when we started.

For far too long the approach to weight loss has simply been to throw an eating plan at you which you weren’t in control of, one which you didn’t know how it worked and fingers crossed and hope for the best. I’ve no doubt you may have had some success, but let’s be honest, if it had worked 100% you wouldn’t be here looking for me. Weight loss is more than just the food we eat, it’s the emotions, thoughts and actions these emotions and thoughts lead to. We need so many skills to enable us to achieve our weight loss goals such as resilience, positive self-talk, reframing, perspective, savouring, finding and unlocking our strengths and bundles of optimism. We also need to understand what leads to our behaviours, set realistic goals we can achieve, deal with trigger foods and self-sabotage, learn to rate our behaviour rather than who we are and understand what our bodies need to lose weight. It has to be more than just one of these things, that’s why I redesigned weight loss as Slimming Redefined.
